This role-playing party game is a design exploration into 'de-escalation.' The challenge was to teach social conflict management in a playful and humorous way. Set in the Samurai era, the game uses the theme of exorcism to frame these interactions. Completed within one month as a strict timeframe.

The game is set in the Samurai era. One player takes on the role of the Oni (the demon), another becomes the Taiji (the exorcist), and the rest of the group acts as judges for the conflict. Both players receive role cards containing information about their respective characters. The Taiji must find a way to calm the other person within a time limit before the Oni fully takes over. The specific method to calm the Oni is hidden on the Oni’s card.

Before the interaction starts, a 'relationship token' is drawn to define how the characters know each other, followed by a second token describing the emotion they need to portray. If they successfully de-escalate the conflict, the Oni and Taiji cards are placed together, and it becomes the next players' turn.
